Muay Thai Fighting Style

Muay Thai:

In early days there were no rules and no protection. Death was common.

Fighters are taught to also hit with the hard shin bone. It can hit with as much force as a baseball bat.

Fighters are taught that kicks don’t count unless they damage the other person.

Every cadet at the military academy is still trained in Muay Thai.

There is a special technique called “Madrit” taught to only select soldiers and involved powerful, deadly blows.

The most devastating blow is the elbow blow. It works like the point of a knife. All the force is concentrated into one small, hard area.

The knee strike is used after getting the attacker in close to neutralize their power.

The power of the legs is used to power an upward thrusting double punch under the opponent’s chin.

There is a secret form of Muay Thai known in “Chaya” (sp) taught in the lawless, borderland with Myanmar. It is battlefield fighting, used to harm a person and take them down fast.

Traditional training involves kicking banana trees to toughen shins, dodge lemons to improve accuracy and chopping through leech invested waters to avoid blinking.
